1. What question were you trying to answer?
the question we were trying to answer is "what are the identities of the unknown solutions.

2.what did you do during your investigations and why did you conduct it n this way?
During our investigation we used multiple different toothpicks which were codded in varies different metal ions. Each ion had different color when put to fire. The reason we did it this way was to figure out how each ion is different and which color they produce.

3.
Claim = what are the identities of the unknown solutions?
Evidence =
Known metal ions
Color produced from flame test
Calcium
Orange
Barium
Lime
Copper
Dark green
Lithium
Red
Potassium
Peach
Sodium
Bright orange
Strontium
Red / Scarlet

Reasoning = Metal ion produce a distinct color of visible light when they are heated, The unique color observed when heated can be used to identify the ion. This is why we can use a tooth pic soaked in the solution to observe the unique color of the flame. Because we know the "identity" (color) of the known metal ions, we need only to match the color of the unknown to the corresponding color of the "known metal ion" to deduce the solution. In the case of solution 1, 2, and 3, the process was fairly simple; the unique color observed be easily matched to the known solutions.
